Monitoring pH Using Alizarin-modified Commercial Screen-printed Electrodes
Original Research
A pH-sensor based on alizarin-modified screen-printed multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-SPE, Orion High Technologies) imbedded in Nafion® shows a linear dependence between the oxidation potential and the pH from pH 0 to pH 10. This modified MWCNT-SPE is compared to a commercial alizarin SPE (DRP 110ALI, Metrohm - DropsSens). In addition to this technical application, these pH sensors seem to be a good didactic alternative to the widely used pH glass electrode, which many students find hard to understand.

Comparison of Substituent Effects in Benzenes (XC5H5C), Pyridines (XC5H4N) and Phosphorines (XC5H4P) and their Protonated Species
Original Research
Collection of interesting and stimulative data led us to construct Hammett plots for different properties like proton affinities, gas phase basicities, solvation free energies of free and protonated benzenes (I), pyridines (II) and phosphorines (III), and for pKa values of protonated pyridines and phosphorines. Trends in Hammett reaction constants (ρ) for all these processes were discussed.

Electrochemical Synthesis of Amorphous Nickel Sulfide Nanostructured Film Photocathode for Solar Hydrogen Production
Original Research
Electrochemical synthesis of amorphous nanostructured films is now well recognized method and here we present experimental protocol for the synthesis of Nickel Sulphide (NiS) amorphous nanostructured film for solar hydrogen production from water feedstock which was used in teaching laboratory in last year of undergraduate and post graduate chemistry students. This proves fascinating laboratory experience that is adopted through modern renewable energy technologies to produce hydrogen from water feedstock. This research area is now well established and expected to be utilized for graduate and undergraduate teaching for advance learning of clean energy processes.

Calculation of Any M+ Value in Mass Spectrometry
Communication
This paper discusses our “Dry Lab” experiment where students are shown the procedure for calculating the nominal and precise M+ values of a compound. However, our main focus deals with the detailed step-by-step process for calculating the precise M+1 and M+2 values of a compound, as well as any of its higher order M+values, when its molecular formula is known.
